🚴 Cycling in the Styrian Volcanic Region / Around Bad Radkersburg

Bad Radkersburg is one of the most popular cycling regions in southern Austria. Nestled between the Mur River floodplain, vineyards, thermal spas, and rolling hills, the Styrian Volcanic Land offers ideal conditions for leisurely cycling tours as well as more challenging day trips. Its location directly on the border with Slovenia allows for many tours to be combined across the border, offering a particularly diverse experience of nature, cuisine, and regional culture.

The region boasts an excellent network of cycle paths with well-signposted themed and culinary routes. Particularly popular are the Mur Cycle Path (R2), the Klöch Wine Route, tours through the Thermal & Volcanic Region, and leisurely routes along the Mur River floodplain. Along the way, numerous wine taverns, cafés, wine shops, and regional businesses invite cyclists to take a culinary break.

Thanks to the mild climate, the cycling season often begins as early as spring and lasts until late autumn. E-bikes are very popular in the region and allow for relaxed tours through the rolling vineyards around Klöch, Tieschen, or St. Anna am Aigen.
